Graham O'Neill welcomes Europcar deal

ACIS, the leading distribution network to the automotive accident repair market, has developed a bespoke and enhanced repair tracking technology for Europcar as part of its renewal as the preferred supplier of paint and consumables into the hire vehicle giant’s approved bodyshop network in the UK.

The technology, which builds upon Europcar’s existing bodyshop priority system, will boost efficiency by allowing the European rental company to more accurately manage repairs, reduce key-to-key times and get hire vehicles back on the road more rapidly, a factor that will, in turn, provide greater choice to customers.

French-owned Europcar is one of the world’s leading car rental companies operating in more than 160 countries. It has a fleet of 200,000 vehicles and hires in excess of eight million cars per annum.

Ian Parry, Europcar’s fleet motor damage manager, said: “We have worked with ACIS for the last three years and have been impressed with the added value offerings and levels of proactivity which have helped us to enhance our productivity.

“We operate in the competitive car rental market where vehicle accidents are an occupational hazard, so we require rapid repair that ensures that customers are always mobile – we simply cannot afford operational down time.

“The new tracking technology will help us to reduce the key-to-key time even further because we will know in real time where a car is and when it will be available to get back on the road, which will help us to manage customer expectation and demand, as well as save us money,” he added.

Graham O’Neill, CEO of ACIS, said: “ACIS is not simply about paint and consumables, but a deeper understanding of bodyshop efficiency protocols and requirements, which is why we offer the added value packages that we do.

“Our continued relationship with Europcar is a testament to the fact that we want to collaboratively develop products and services that mirror Europcar’s evolving bodyshop requirements, both now and for the future.

“Europcar is a massive organisation with a brand footprint across the world. Its endorsement of our services underlines our commitment to help future-proof the bodyshop through technological support and investment.”
